2009: A Space Odyssey IIPosted by Sash (Adelaide, Australia) on 21 May 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. the previous image was a ROARING success here at the Aminus 3 commmunity, so by popular demand-Hello Organik Mum-here's the second installment in the prestigious saga of the mighty obelisk somewhere in the field in Willunga. Let it never be said that I do this for the recognition (coz there isn't much!). As with pretty much everything I do within my own photographic sphere, I am proud to have been part of the experience. Blurb to follow... Here's the blurb: Dachimas and I ventured down to the deep south of Willunga prior to sunrise the other day. We botched the raid on the unsuspecting terrain royally as our decision to settle in this location and wait for the sphere of fire to awaken netted us a landscape marred by distracting periphery, especially when glancing sideways in the direction of the horizon, and an overall useable depth of field that anyone with phlegm would not waste phlegm on. That's what happens occasionally when you're exploring an area without really knowing much about it. Pfft! That stated, the blurb does not end there. With Plan A well and truly spiralling down the s-bend, Plan B was unzipped; HDR exposures and plenty of them. This is the second in the 2009: A Space Odyssey (all rights reserved) series, so named because the content reminds me of the black obelisk in the movie bearing a similar name. While I'm not convinced that Kubrick wouldn't be rolling in his grave at the suggestion that there is a connection between his timeless motion picture masterpiece and my contrived misrepresentation of whatever it is intended to be a representation of, I do hope that someone out there, perhaps in a distant galaxy, finds some form of inspiration from it. It sure doesn't seem to be glossing anyone's eyelids in these parts. Honk if you want more. Eyes in front without a word spoken if you don't. ;) PS There will be more because I own the rights to the images that appear here. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk... Contact: sashkertes at gmail dot com
