2009: A Space OdysseyPosted by Sash (Adelaide, Australia) on 20 May 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Dachimas and I ventured down to the deep south of Willunga prior to sunrise. We botched the raid on the unsuspecting terrain royally as our decision to settle in this location and wait for the sphere of fire to awaken netted us a landscape marred by distracting periphery, especially when glancing sideways in the direction of the horizon, and an overall useable depth of field that anyone with phlegm would not waste phlegm on. Pfft! With Plan A well and truly spiralling down the s-bend, Plan B was unzipped; HDR exposures and plenty of them. This is the first in the 2009: A Space Odyssey (all rights reserved) series, so named because the content reminds me of the black obelisk in the movie bearing a similar name. While I'm not convinced that Kubrick wouldn't be rolling in his grave at the suggestion that there is a connection between his timeless motion picture masterpiece and my contrived two-dimensional misrepresentation of whatever it is intended to be a representation of, I do hope that someone out there, perhaps in a distant galaxy, finds some form of inspiration from this cartoon-like phallus. Honk if you want more. Eyes in front without a word spoken if you don't. ;) Update: The 'eyes in front without a word spoken' seem to be marginally in front at the moment.
