A boy atop his parent's shoulders at a firworks festival in Japan. Good times, great memories. :)
Help yourself to the blue cheese, but stay away from the green one.
..and good shadows to photograph too!

@alla: Thank you very much for that extremely kind comment.
Holy fireworks Batman!! Although that child is in silhouette you can feel his wonder... or at least my spidey senses tell me that.(yeah, I'm mixing up my superheroes). And I'm very impressed with the steadiness of this image considering you were at 1/40 sec. One of your best Sash!!

@amy: Thanks Amy. There wasn't much I could do about the low level of lighting (I left my portable flood lights in Australia), not that I'm complaining about the result, but the steadiness has always been part of my repertoire. I cite a steady diet of bourbon and cola during my uni years as a major contributing factor in this uber control o' mine.
Whoa, oh-oh, uber control o' mine. Sing it with me now...
I have immediately liked very beautifully, wonderful.

Very cool. Great sense of depth here. His right arm looks hideously deformed. Love all the negative space.

@Stu: 'Negative space'? You have been reading your photography books, haven't you? ;)
Yeah... I do feel good about the perspective here, Stuey. I tried one or two photos with flash. They didn't have the same commanding presence as this silhouette(d) incarnation. I guess the 'deformity' of the arm may have been caused by slight movement on the part of the parent. Either that or it's due to the low shutter speed.
PS A mate of mine handed me his no-longer-desired EOS 400D the other day and said, 'Use the force, Sashimi.' I intend to. If you have any hints, suggestions or watch-out-fors please let me know c/o the regular gmail address. I do appreciate any correspondence regarding the aforementioned topics of conversation.
Simply outstanding photo! Great eye!

Oustanding, Sash! So celebrative! All your recent work has been superb!
Best wishes !

@Sriram: Celebrative is the perfect description, Sriram. The fireworks festivals in Japan are a family night out, and the mood is always very uplifting. Having said that, a large portion of the men get stupidly drunk, so the level of festivity has a multitude of high points. :)
Thanks so much for your kind comment. I appreciate the feedback.
Great work - looks like the birth of a god.
