David Bowie once sang: 'Look at those big men go. It's the freakiest show.'
I concur with Sir Davo, yet I have admiration for the big blokes with the fancy head and crotch wear. It's as though they've flown directly into the face of public perception about obesity and come out the other end with their heads held high. It's a sign of fortitude that rubs me the right way. Go, you big blokes, GO!
PS Away from the interWeb due to mega essay marking and family catch-ups (no relation to Family Wee's Ketchup), so have pre-posted this series from Japan. Apologies for inadequate perusal of your ultra fine photo blogs. Will do utmost to re-establish link with surreal world ASAP.
PPS Essays are dragging me into a cavernous black headspace without forseeable end in sight. My goat's eyes are glowing red and its hooves are raking soil. Predict fireworks and bloodshed, not necessarily in that order.
PPPS Garcon! Hand me a sabre...
Help yourself to the blue cheese, but stay away from the green one.
Love the b/w Sashmo - makes the whole scene more emotional. Good luck with the essay writing!

@Mandy: Thanks for the kind words, Mandy. I also think the B&W works well here. It was shot originally that way, not converted from a colour image. :)
Actually, I'm marking essays, not writing them. It may sound like the better end of the deal but I assure you it isn't. :( Thanks for the uplifting message all the same. I'll be sure to visit your blog as soon as I get a moment away from these dreaded pages.
I absolutely love how the two women in the lower left don't move at all.. they just sit there quite placidly while this hulking mass is thrown from the ring!! There is seriously no change in facial expression or body language!! Japanese culture, eh?! Really FABulous sequence Sash!! But the important question is: Do they wax??
And may the force be with you on marking those essays! My brother is a teacher and I know what an absolute torchure it is to mark those puppies.. beyond the time consuming task of correcting bad grammar et al.

Excellent! Even the mighty must fall. I enjoy watching Sumo tournaments very much.
