I do like B&W pictures (too, along with color saturation ones so) but sometimes it's not very useful. Here it helps feeling the storm, great picture.

@Frederick: I know what you mean, Frederick. I think B&W works well here because the scene was very grey anyway - there wasn't a great deal to be told by the dull colours. In B&W, there's drama and even suspense (Will the small vessels survive the imminent storm or will they capsize never to be seen again?)
Sash, I am a fan. I love how you see and present. I'm rarely disappointed. And this one is just so so so so.... beautiful. The b/w treatment is spot on and the symmetry of the boats mesmerizing.

@amy: Arigato, Amy. I use a circular polarising filter 99% of the time which really brought out the darkness of the left side of the photo (the direction from which the storm was coming). The only other 'modification' was an adjustment to the contrast, but that's a standard addition to anyone's repertoire, I'm sure.
BTW, I really appreciate the effort you go to with your comments. Cheers. :)
@Sriram: Thank you, Sriram. I'm glad that my photos can have such a positive effect on someone. Thanks for your continued visits and comments. When I get a spare moment I promise to reciprocate the gesture. :)
This has a classic feel to it. Really effective b&w. There is a palpable feeling of expectation and foreboding here, and the reflections of the boats are priceless. Super.
