It's all about the collective...
This is the first of a set of photos I took in Japan. Actually, this is the first image of a mini-series which is also part of a larger series of photos all taken in Japan.
Help yourself to the blue cheese, but stay away from the green one.
Absolutely excellent b&w. Great detail and an effective use of tight framing. This reminds me of when I was in Japan. Was it taken there?

@Andrew Gould: G'day Andrew. Yes, this was taken in / at Kamakura, not too far from Yokohama and Tokyo. Unfortunately, I didn't have a tripod with me at the time so this is the best I could muster with a hand held effort in rather poor light (late afternoon). I can't remember the name of the shrine but it's famous for a multitude of similar statues lined up systematically. I've got a few more in the series so please come back and take a look.
Thanks for your comment, mate. It's great to know there are other Aussies out there who have come across some of the cultural wonders that Japan has to offer.
Cool! Love this shot! And you did a great job in low lighting condition!

@Celialee: Thanks. I remember feeling frustrated because of the poor light, and especially because I didn't have a tripod with me. Hand held photos can be hit or miss. Cheers for your comment(s). :)
You are quite the b&w afficionado, mate. This is a great exercise in tones, light and shadow. Looks great, and the tight framing really draws the eye in.

Just replying to your reply to me above, Sash. I don't see any deficiencies from you having taken this handheld under those conditions. By the way, I know Kamakura from my first visit to Japan in my younger days.
