As a general rule, I adjust the sharpness in PS of each image I post. I also adjust the contrast and lightness according to whatever I happen to think works best with each image. I try to use DOF as much as possible in my photos as I think the entire image should capture a moment rather than just the subject in focus.

@filipe franco: Thank you Filipe. My intention with this was to show the vast space and the conflict between a magnificent viewpoint and inclement weather.

@Jenya: Yeah, you're right about the impact those few branches have. I never thought of them as looking like lightning but now that you've mentioned it, it's almost as if they're calling out to be zapped!
