@JC: Yeah, I remember Ash Wednesday. I was in Hope Valley (north eastern suburb of Adelaide) myself. Even as a child I remember thinking that it was going to be terrible.

It's been a ridiculously dry year, although the past two days have been reminiscent of the far north's wet season.

@Jerry: Thank you very much Jerry. I assume a man from Florida knows all too well about these types of spectacular displays. The Tropics are a catalyst (provided it's not raining cats and dogs) for phenomenal aesthetic displays.

@DTW: Thanks DTW. That's pretty close to my response to Jerry's comment (comment before yours). Whenever I see footage of Florida, the sky looks vaguely familiar to that of the tropical northern region of Australia. Thanks for the comment.

@Stu: Cheers Stuaato. We should meet there again. Perhaps you could find it within your scheduling to head back Down Unduh at a time when it isn't the peak tourist season and we could pretend to be drunken bums and/or adventure seekers armed with cameras. It's just a thought.
