A self-portrait of the subtle variety taken in Japan whilst waiting for my wife to finish teaching at her English school.
How I miss Japan...Sigh.
Posted for Stu.
Help yourself to the blue cheese, but stay away from the green one.
Many thanks for the mention and post Sash. Don't know what to say really.....other than....cool shot and title! Love these long exposure pics and the human element in this one really adds a new dimension to it. Don't quite know how you managed to stay motionless for 30 seconds though. Was it a bus that went past? The tail lights are really high and there's a strange white line even higher.
Gonna make it my mission now to do more night-shots. It's official - you've inspired me.

@Stu: Yeah, remaining still for thirty seconds took about thirty seconds off of my life, mate. No idea how I'll get that time back, you know? Believe it or not, the lights were from a firetruck. I took about ten of these with this one being the best of the lot. In a town such as Mikkabi, it's a difficult proposition to capture something like this, as there's usually not much by way of traffic; unless the wind is part of the equation.
PS You're welcome. :)
wow, incredible speed control!

@Lydia: Thanks! Glad you like it. It was loads of fun trying to pull it off. :)
Nice long exposure shot, it comes to life with the border you used too.

@Richard_Irwin: Thanks Richard. The border wasn't intentional per se as I'm using the same border dimensions for all of my photos here. Having said that, I think you're absolutely right in that the border gives the image much needed (breathing) space.
Arf ! I've got same thinking as Stu. I beleived it could be a bus passing by ! Funny shoot. Cost you a high 30 sec of your life... Thank's for spending it for us. (o;

@L. Despres: Thank you for the kind words. The town where we lived was VERY quiet, so I had to wait for a long time before a car drove by. I was lucky here because it wasn't a car but a fire truck. It must have been karma. :)
Was just browsing thru your portfolio.. This is one good picture!! *all say aye if this is a good picture*

@Ming Img: Thanks, Ming. I happen to like this one as well, and I had a lot of fun posing for it (well... setting up, flicking the timer, running to the spot and THEN posing for it.)
:)
