We survived the onslaught of overnight frigidity that would have laid to ruin lesser men. How were we to know the sunrise would slay us all?
Location: A lagoon on Kangaroo Island, SA, Australia (featuring salt, not snow).
Help yourself to the blue cheese, but stay away from the green one.
i like the magenta/purple toning, that makes the title make sense, and brings the image elements together really well.

@Richard_Irwin: Cheers, Richard. Occasionally I'll get inspired and come up with something relevant by way of the written word to tie it together with the image itself. Perhaps I got lucky this time. : )
Really loving this salt lake series. The mirror-smooth reflections are quite magical and seem to compliment the sterility of the environment. It seems so hostile to life there that you'd have more chance of survival on the Moon. The barbed wire also sits well in the scene.

@Stu: A mate and I discovered this place by accident the previous evening. We made plans to get there before sunrise the following day and capture everything as the sun slowly crept into the picture. This was taken quite a few minutes before proper light appeared. I also love the barbed wire here.
Very nice shot of a magic place !

@Inès: Thank you, Ines. I'm pleased that you like it. Thanks for your comment. : )
Hi, I am still impressed by the colours I also like the composition in that picture should try with filters on my own.... I suppose you set the white balance manually or to a preset ...

@Calcifer: Hello Calcifer.
I set the white balance manually and had the shutter open for six seconds on this photo. I think filters are excellent but you can't use them at any time of the day. I used one here because the photo was taken at 6am and there was minimal light. I wanted to get a 'special' effect with minimal lighting. This was an experimental photo and I'm pleased with the results. Thanks for your comment.
I see what you mean about how the filter works with the available light to create this really interesting light. Good work renegade =D)

@drphoto: Thanks, Dan. Believe it or not (RIP Jack Palance), it was virtually dark at the time this photo was taken. The long exposure and purple filter have given it a completely unrelated feel. I still think I had more fun during this shoot than any other either before it or after it. BTW, I really appreciate that you've taken a look at some of my older images.
